Jacobite Steam Train
This is one of the best train rides in the world. It makes for a full day trip. It departs from Ft. William and goes to Mallaig and back to Ft. William, passing many wonderful sites along the way. One of the most famous sites is the Glennfinnan Viaduct.

Perhaps my favorite place in Scotland is Inveraray in Argyllshire. Upper left, the Inveraray Marine Museum on Loch Fyne, a salt water loch where the tide goes out every evening. Left, Loch Fyne Whiskies, where you can go in and taste many of the whiskies for free in a wee dram glass. Above, the Argyll Hotel, a wonderful place to stay and/or eat.
